Who I am and why you should read my tips about Ireland
My name is Marta, an Italian mama of two who moved to Ireland in 2005 and have called Ireland home ever since.
I originally moved here to stay with my then-boyfriend/now-husband, who is from Ireland, and while we originally thought we would stay a while and then move, we found Ireland so pleasant as a home base, we never left again!
Well at least, not for a long time: we love to travel and fo it extensively but have called Ireland our home base for 15 years in my case and over 40 in his!
Over these many years here, I have helped very many friends, friends of friends and blog readers planning their trip to Ireland. When I first moved here, I worked for a school of English, so helping people plan when and how to come to Ireland was part of my professional life.
Over the course of those years, I learned what were the most common questions about traveling to Ireland, had the chance to travel around the country extensively and found great joy in being in touch with people interested in a trip here.
When the kids came along, I took on trave blogging full time and through this other medium, I kept helping people with articles guiding them on their travel plans.
The more I wrote about Ireland, the more I fell in love with it and the more I found myself wanting to explore. As friends and family can testify, there is hardly a weekend when I don’t pack up my family in a car or a train and go see our wonderful island of Ireland!
We look at the country with that particular mix of local knowledge and visitor’s wonder and this site is the result of our passion for traveling around this country. Here, over time, we will publish all our best tips for planning a trip to Ireland, our tips and advice on how to make the most of your time here and reviews of attractions and places we explore.
While I am not a travel planner or agent and do not offer paid travel planning service, I do hope you will find these articles good sources of information on traveling to Ireland, with kids or without. Safe travels to Ireland!
